Nestled in at 336 Grant Street, across from the courthouse, Skyblue Music offers piano lessons of all levels, recording lessons, songwriting lessons, beginning guitar and beginning ukulele lessons.. Sky Ladd started teaching when he was 18 years old, at the Humboldt Music Academy, and has been teaching for over 30 years. He teaches all styles and levels, customizing the lesson to each student's musical interests and learning style. Sky grew up in northern California and has traveled all over the world as a pianist, including Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Australia, and the Middle East. In 1994 Sky was the winner of the Humboldt Concerto/Aria Competition and performed as a soloist with the symphonic orchestra; he also was the winner of the Humboldt Bach Competition in 1995. Sky formerly worked as a Music Director for Holland America Cruise Lines and as a pianist for Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Premier cruise lines.
